Why do they hate us?

By Alberto Pupo

Why do they hate us? This is the question that was asked during the “War of Terror”. This question has now be answered by a rather hefty report. Torture, or the Bushes referred to as “Enhanced Interrogations”, is now a very public and open reality. Yes much of what is in this report has been acknowledged by certain researchers and mainly Progressive Journalists, but now the allegations are coming from within he very Government who at bush-cheney-war-criminalsone point was trying to sweep these same allegations under the rug.

For those nostalgic for Bush, this week we peer into the darkness that was that era. The fat out torture used by a nation which is supposed to be spreading freedom. The allegations of 160 million dollars given as hush money to two psychologists to essentially find a way to torture people. In the end the conclusion reached is quite simple torture does not work. To the American people for the most part will not read the report or delve into the dark details. However in today’s social media meme oriented universe the message and substance of the report will make its rounds. This will have a lasting impact especially on younger children, who as this report makes its way throughout our society are sitting in their classrooms listening to Nationalistic Continue reading

A Deal With the Devil?

By Alberto Pupo

The Deal with the devil? “ Five high end “ Taliban prisoners freed in exchange for one miserable POW!

Oh the humanity! Stop the presses, call for impeachment! Start the hypocritical rantings from an old dinosaur who was a POW himself! The Bergdahl situation is the latest craze. After Benghazi, and the IRS “scandal” turned out to be a bummer. After their inability to milk the VA “scandal” the Conservative movement has found its new scapegoat Idaho Hometown Of Released Army Solider Bowe Bergdahl Celebrates His ReleaseBergdahl. But what does this exchange really mean? Is it an indictment at the recklessness of the Obama Administration? Or is it an indictment an the Bush Administration, and further proof that the “War on Error” was nothing more than an expensive bloodletting at the expense of the American people.

The only POW captured in Continue reading

“The Return of Terror?”

By Alberto Pupo

The Boston Manhunt is over. The suspects have been revealed one dead, the other captured. The two men responsible for the bombings have been brought to Justice. All around the Country Right-wing White Supremacists breathing a sigh of relief as the men responsible were “Evil Muslims” from some place they can’t even name. Once again Right-wing Propagandists like Fox News have been salivating at the fact that two foreigners have attacked us again. Before the suspects were even caught Corporate Media has been steadily trying to bring back the whole “AL Queda evil Muslims meme.” So desperately have they wanted to radicalized the two individuals responsible for the bombing. What is the agenda this time? To keep this War on Terror going? To make more money for the military industrial complex? Or is to justify Drone Warfare and the potential assassination of US Citizens going rogue?

They were legally American. The Boston Marathon Bombing Suspects Tamerlane Tsarnaev 26, and (now deceased) and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Continue reading

War and Greed = American Culture

Human life is worthless. This is the message that has been coming out of Washing ton this week. The Department of Justice in its attempt to justify death has created a legal frame work rationalizing the taking of human life. It seems that our Nation has embraced a militaristic culture where human life is not celebrated or preserved but deemed unworthy of such status. The United States is a Nation that instead of focusing on important things like helping provide a safety net to the people, or making sure we have an educated and civilized society, is much too busy and would rather draft up legal arguments justifying killing and torture. This sort of disregard for human life is one of Continue reading

Dear Sir or Madam?

Our Nation is sick and tired of constant War. Since the year 2001 when the so called War on Terror kicked off, our Nation has been to Afghanistan, Iraq, and back to Afghanistan. The 12th year of conflict is now upon us and still no clear end in sight. Two Presidential Administrations four elections, the war machine keeps on churning. While Congressional leaders keep telling up about fiscal apocalypses and the end of America. We continue to fatten the wallet of contractors. While we struggle to find money for health care and education, billions of our money is gladly sent to the desert to build Top of the line military installations which will continue to show off our dominance and strength over the world.

Yes the message of the last twelve years has been received loud and Continue reading
