The circus is coming in 2016. The mad dash to hop into the Post-Obama world is already turning into a mad scramble (especially in the Republican circles). Already thousands of inane conservative candidates, and Koch buddies are leaping and running at the chance. Meanwhile even Mitt threatened another run but was short lived as the realization that he will not be able to successfully portray himself as “mother Teresa”. Yet even without Romney 2016 is shaping itself to be a fantastic clown like atmosphere.
Palin is back! (and no not the one of Monty Python acclaim) the Empress of Wasilla is flirting with a run to add to the list of the mentally unstable who are running. Right now this mad menagerie is struggling to find money, (most of them will be bowing to the Kochs soon enough).Yet one thing is abundantly clear this new crop of rabblerousers is heavy on the flash and soundbite, but lacking in the substantive. Instead of policy ideas, and methods of perhaps moving America forward, we are simply getting vapid statements which are yielding nothing. In this field of forward, looking brilliant philosophers not a single valid policy idea has been presented. Instead we simply get the same refrain of moving into the “Post-Obama world” yet there is not a Continue reading →
Tomorrow is the State of the Union Address. President Obama lays out what will be happening for his second term. However this will be but a sideshow to the beginning of a massive Civil War. Yes the Cuban Jesus versus the Prodigal Son! The two rebuttal speeches will be important not because of its content (which will certainly be lacking), but because it will be the Continue reading →
The wheels are coming off the Republican Machine. After a sounding beating at the polls, the party seems to be in a state of disarray. Their methods and demographics are being questioned, former power brokers are losing influence in political discourse, Members of the Tea Party Revolution are finding themselves embattled with the Establishment etc. In other words things look really heinous. With the current happenings and trajectory there is a good chance that the Grand Old Party’s hubris may ultimately lead to a split. The Tea Wing and the somewhat moderate win are one’s another’s throats and with the so called Fiscal Cliff negotiations approaching it looks like the disarray has gotten even worse.
The Republicans have learned that white, bitter, old men, do not make for a modern party. The reliance on the “Dont Thread on Me Curmudgeon” have become a thing of the past. In an election that had Romney get a majority of the white and very male vote and still lose by quite a bit is indicative of the white man’s influence. While still a majority and more affluent than most they do not Continue reading →
