The reason for Trump

By Alberto Pupo

Anger, hatred, and bullying behavior. Donald Trump’s presidential campaign has been one “lovefest” away from causing a full-blown civil war. Things are so out of control even CNN 23-reality-trump.w529.h352is starting to take note of the recent madness in Chicago. Naturally Mr. Trump blames everyone else but himself for this mess, but is he responsible for all of this? Is there another Party that shares the responsibility for this spectacle? Unfortunately, the answer is in the mirror.

Do Americans have a fetish for notorious celebrities? The more inane the capers, the more Americans coo over their desire to share in their fantasy world. Almost two decades ago now “reality tv” first hit the United States courtesy of MTV. It was supposed to show what happens “when people stop being polite and get real” This craze went on to spin various “reality scenarios” that have captivated Americans. As viewership increased so did disdain for other literary pastimes like reading and Continue reading

Before You Vote Consider This

By Alberto Pupo

Scandals continue to grow for Hillary. Bernie is catching up waiting in the wings. What was to be a 2016 coronation party, may simply turn into 2008 redux. It is still early but it seems like people are beginning to see that Hillary may not be the right choice in 2016. One thing though that makes many develop a soft spot for Hillary is the quiet desperation among maxresdefaultwomen to finally have America breakthrough the glass ceiling at the highest political office. However while this is what many females want is voting based on gender or platform a smart thing? The following new blog post below (courtesy of new blog Mom No Filter) shows a female perspective on a Hillary candidacy and quite frankly the way a true progressive woman should approach voting. The Ghost of George W. Bush

By Alberto Pupo

Jeb Bush, has still not declared his candidacy however the sins of his brother may become a liability for his political run. Recently the Ghost of Bush past is haunting Jeb in two embarrassing events that will hurt. In one Jeb Bush in a misguided attempt to show brotherly affection openly states that like his bother he would have also thrown our Nation into a useless and expensive war. Shortly after making such a bold declarative statement tumblr_njt6wgbJHu1rhkttmo1_500he realizes that he made a mistake and tries to play it off with the ever popular “I misheard”. Jeb Bush knows that he has made a major misstep as the whole point of his campaign is to be the “other Bush” a compassionate moderate with no Neocon ambition, but this misstep would not be the end of his recent brushes with public embarrass

Jeb Bush knows that gaining the support of younger voters is important, however in an America were younger voters are ultimately more politically progressive, she confronts good ol Jeb and states that his brother George w. Bush created ISIS. While this may seem like the words of an uninformed youngster who does not understand the political nuances and complex foreign policy, however the misinformed youngster was not far form the truth. ISIS, is essentially an Continue reading

The Kochurian Candidate

By Alberto Pupo

With the campaign to 2016, the Koch Brothers have found their man! Ever since The Citizens United decision to sell our democracy for dollar bills, the Koch brothers have been attempting to control government by throwing money at politicos to do their bidding. Now with 2016 approaching the brothers have been desperately trying to find their very own “Manchurian Candidate” who will essentially make them the de facto Presidents of Scott-Walker-Image-998x792the United States.  With the current crop of candidates in the Republican Party being so ideologically driven on a personal level the Kochs are trying to coax someone who has already been very loyal and in their payroll for quite a while. The man that the Koch Brothers wish to anoint is none other than their man in Wisconsin Scott Walker.

Wisconsin the birthplace of the Continue reading

2016 Snoozefest

By Alberto Pupo

The 2016 electoral campaigns, they are but a year away but you can definitely see a lack of excitement.  While Conservatives are poised to put on a disgusting display of outrageous sound bites and comedy filled gaffes, Democrats have all but stopped trying to pretend that anyone will challenge Hillary. In fact even with the ongoing “email Ghazi” wordpressscandal manufactured right before her impending run Hilary seems to have the 2016 nomination on lock. This notion of such a predictable campaign has already alienated all progressives, and even some die-hard Democrats. A Hilary coronation before the fight even begins will ensure an abysmal turnout, and it is during years of abysmal turnouts that Continue reading

Where did all the Bipartisanship go?

By Alberto Pupo

Where is the bipartisanship? The spirit of reaching across the aisle and working together? Political Commentators and journalists are always wistfully asking these questions waxing poetic about this mythical time. There seems to be a pattern among the mainstream or “political center” that there is no cooperation among the parties and that we bipartisanshipas a people are terribly divided. What is the cause for this division? What is the esoteric key? The answer is actually quite mind numbingly simple, it is all about the power.

Let’s face it Conservatives live for power. It is interesting to see the mood change in the conservative movement the moment that the President was no longer one of them. Suddenly gone is the hurray Nationalism and pride that permeated throughout the Bush administration. Suddenly media outlets and conservative commentators and politicians find themselves on the outside looking in.

Conservatives quite frankly have a Continue reading
