The New Breed of Republican

By Alberto Pupo

Once upon a time there used to be a Rightward leaning party in America. These individuals believed in the power of the wealthy, the exceptionalism of America and morality. While terribly obnoxious and at times downright cold hearted, these individuals could sometimes at surprising moments manage a shred of humanity and common decency. Today these individuals known as Republicans are gone. In their places stands
a wild horde of Fascists waiting to take America down even darker paths if given the chance. The Right Wing of today is a case study in full blown Fascism. Gone is the so called “moral majority of upstanding citizens.” Instead the United States is left fighting a group of fiends far more dangerous than could have ever been conceived. The Republican party is dead, in its place a Fascist Beast.

The Republicans of the past and the new beasts that dub themselves Republicans are completely different animals. In social and economic theories and policy the two groups differ quite sharply. When it comes to the realm of the social the Republican would make lewd jokes about race, national origin and sex. Meanwhile the current crop resorts to physical violence threats and intimidation of those who may be different. When it comes to Gay Marriage one side suggests marriage is between a man and a woman, while today’s breed will call for complete banning and even conversion of gays and lesbians. A Republican will revile Roe v. Wade and offer prayer to try stop a woman from aborting. The new breed of Fascist call for a complete overturning and a laws which will give rights to zygotes effectively making abortion into murder. A Republican will want to infuse more biblical morality into every day society, speak about Christmas and infuse prayers into school. The new breed of Fascists want to establish a Theocracy. When it comes to Society and their outlook on society Republicans in the past looks harmless and powerless, the new breed has even been deemed insane by Pat Robertson, a man who has many an insane idea. When it comes to social control it is not just a matter of wanting to legislate moral laws, but to force morals through violent means another example of the new breed of fascism which dominates what was once the Republican Party.

When it comes to matter of economy we all know that Republicans love the wealthy.
Well in this case the new breed of Fascist, don’t just love the wealthy, but they want the wealthy to run every aspect of our daily lives. To the Republicans cutting corporate taxes was important. Making sure that corporations thrive is important because the wealth trickles downward. To the new breed of Fascists they want Corporations to pay nothing in taxes, and the never mind trickling down the wealth should simply stay concentrated in the hands of a few. Republicans always right for less regulation of corporations. The new breed of Fascists fight for zero regulations and accountability to corporations in fact it is the duty of the corporations to wreck the planet as long as it fattens the bottom line. Republicans believe in personal responsibility and the bootstrap for everyone. The new breed of Fascists believe the poor should die and the middle class should work to become wage slaves to the wealthy.

Yes the traditional notion of a Republican is dead. This piece of prose is not meant as an Apologia for the Republican philosophy, but instead it shows us how the Right in America has ceased being Conservative and has become flat-out Fascism. Witness how a flirtation with Fascism has become a full on love affair. Inspiration in the philosophy of Ayn Rand has now instead become Cult like Fanaticism. For today’s Republican Ronald Reagan would considered a Marxist and a traitor, What started with Goldwater and was perfected by Bush Jr. has unleashed a most heinous beast. The madness is enough to make us yearn for rational opponents.
